Adult:
(Tab Cipro 500mg+Tini 600mg). Usually one tab b.i.d for 5-10days depending on severity & response. Preferably taken 2 hrs after meals. Liberal fluid intake advised. |

Renal impairment, h/o seizures; ensure adequate hydration & urinary output; avoid alcohol ingestion and pregnancy. |

Adverse Drug Reactions |
Nausea, headache, vomiting, fatigue, abdominal pain, depression, dyspepsia, constipation, dry mouth, sometimes diarrhea, metallic taste, urticaria, erythema & rashes; rarely convulsions & hematological changes. |

Adverse Drug Reactions |
Severe hypersensitivity reaction (rarely). |

Interactions |
Increases plasma levels of theophylline; potentiates oral anticoagulant effects; disulfiram-like effect with alcohol. Antacids, sucralfate, calcium, Fe & Zn prep reduce absorption of ciprofloxacin; probenecid may reduce renal clearance of ciprofloxacin; rifampicin may reduce serum-ciprofloxacin levels. |
